National Treasure Usuki Stone Buddhas Fire Festival

About this event

This festival is said to have originated from a combination of prayers for a bountiful harvest, memorial services for stone Buddha statues, and insect-repelling rituals. Centered around the stone Buddha group, approximately 1,000 bonfires are lit, creating a magical atmosphere as the National Treasure Usuki Stone Buddhas and surrounding area are illuminated and emerge into view. Visitors can admire the Usuki Stone Buddhas enveloped in a mystical ambiance.
