"Gekidan Hishoza" Popular Theater Performance

As part of celebrations for Respect for the Aged Month in September and initiatives to create an enjoyable community for senior citizens, Bungotakada City is hosting a popular theater performance by "Gekidan Hishoza." The performance consists of a theatrical play and a dance show, each scheduled to run for approximately 60 minutes. The event will take place on Saturday, September 12, 2026, with two performances: a morning session and an afternoon session. The morning session starts at 10:00 and ends at 12:30, while the afternoon session starts at 14:30 and ends at 17:00. In both cases, doors open 1 hour before the start of the performance. The venue is the Chuo Kominkan Main Hall. Residents of the city aged 70 and older are invited free of charge, and their accompanying person (1 person only, including drivers) as well as general guests can enter for 500 yen. However, a lottery will be held if applicants exceed capacity. Applications are accepted until Friday, July 31, and applicants must submit the application form available at each city hall building. After the application period ends, ticket exchange vouchers will be mailed to those whose seats are confirmed. Tickets will be sent directly to those aged 70 and older.
