The "27th Hamada Syuzou Shinshu Festival in Ichikikushikino," held in Ichikikushikino City, Kagoshima Prefecture, is an autumn banquet where visitors can savor the appeal of "Shinshu" (freshly brewed shochu) made from freshly harvested sweet potatoes along with local gourmet food. At the venue, free servings of freshly made "Shinshu Hatsu-kura Shikomi" mixed with water will be offered, and a variety of shochu can be enjoyed at the "Kuramoto BAR" served by the brewery's craftsmen. In the gourmet zone with about 20 stalls, visitors can enjoy pairing dishes from local Ichikikushikino restaurants with new shochu, and a "Sweet Potato Fest" gathering popular sweet potato dessert shops from across Kagoshima Prefecture will also be held. Furthermore, in the newly introduced evening networking event "Shinshu Festival Denbei Night," round-table talks and panel discussions on the background and hardships of shochu making will take place, allowing direct interaction with the brewers. Packed with content enjoyable for children and adults alike—including brewery tours, hands-on programs related to new product development, an ennichi fair corner, and stage events—the festival fully showcases the charm of authentic shochu culture.
