About this event
Held to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the founding of the Kaitakushi Brewery and to widely publicize the achievements of Murahashi Hisanari, a Satsuma feudal retainer from Kajiki, the "Kamoda Sapporo Romance Festival" will take place. Murahashi Hisanari led the establishment of the "Kaitakushi Brewery," Japan's first full-scale beer brewery, laying the foundation for Japan's beer industry. Through a symposium and a social gathering, this event shares Murahashi Hisanari's life and accomplishments, as well as the tracks that connected Kajiki and Hokkaido. In the symposium, the Director of the Sapporo Beer Museum and a Kagoshima History Master will take the stage to explore the history of Japan's beer industry and Murahashi's accomplishments. At the social gathering, participants can discuss Murahashi's achievements while enjoying all-you-can-drink associated beers and local specialty products.
