About this event
The "Ishira Harvest Festival" held in Uken Village, Kagoshima Prefecture, is a traditional festival praying for the safety of the village and a bountiful harvest of five grains. According to the fiscal year 2026 harvest festival schedule for each settlement published on the official Uken Village Office website, the Ishira district's harvest festival is scheduled to be held on September 12 (Saturday). This festival serves as a valuable opportunity for local residents and natives to gather, deepen community bonds through traditional rituals and dances, and celebrate the harvest. Dances such as the village-designated intangible cultural property "Inasuri Dance" and the Hachigatsu Dance will also be performed, enlivening the festival even further. It is a festival where visitors can experience traditional culture deeply rooted in the region while wishing for the village's safety and prosperity.
