About this event
The 30th Ginowan City Youth Eisa Festival is an Eisa event held in Ginowan City two weeks after the Kyubon (Old Bon Festival) in the 7th lunar month. Welcoming over 10,000 spectators every year, it has become a staple summer tradition in Ginowan City. The year 2026 marks its 30th anniversary. During the event period, a total of 13 youth associations affiliated with the Ginowan City Youth Association will perform Eisa dances featuring regional characteristics. In addition, performances by local children's associations, the women's association, and guest youth associations from outside the city will be presented. Eisa differs by region in dance style, costumes, drum beating, and musical accompaniment (hayashi), allowing visitors to enjoy comparing the distinct features of each. Typically, kachashi is performed after the Eisa dances on both days. On the final day, following the kachashi, large fireworks will be launched to light up the night sky of Ginowan City. At the venue, the Ginowan City Seaside Park Multi-Purpose Open Space, securing viewing spots will be allowed starting from 16:00 on both days. It has been announced that blue tarps and other items placed before that time to save spots will be removed.
