At Shotokukan in Towada City Equestrian Park, Towada City, Aomori Prefecture, the summer special exhibition 'Illustrated Festival Encyclopedia of Aomori — Touring 10 Municipalities —' will be held. This exhibition introduces the traditions and charms of festivals in 10 municipalities across Aomori Prefecture. Like turning the pages of an encyclopedia, visitors can see, learn about, and experience the traditions and people's thoughts handed down through the prefecture's festivals. In addition to exhibits of miniature Tachineputa, children's portable shrines (mikoshi), original float illustrations, and costumes, video screenings offering an immersive festival atmosphere will also be held at the venue. Introduced festivals include the Hachinohe Sansha Taisai, Hachinohe Enburi, and Towada City Autumn Festival from the Nanbu region; the Tanabu Festival from the Shimokita region; and the Aomori Nebuta, Hirosaki Neputa, Goshogawara Tachineputa, Hirakawa Neputa Festival, Kuroishi Yosare, Umaichi Festival, and Arama Festival from the Tsugaru region. During the exhibition period, special programs and hands-on events will also be held, such as 'Make a Haneto Bell! ~With a Goldfish Nebuta Shrink Plastic Charm~', 'Enjoy Towada Ohayashi with Five Senses', and 'How Nebuta Is Made ~A Year in the Life of a Nebuta Master~'.
