About this event
The Iwate Town Autumn Festival, which has its roots in the Nanbu float traditions, will be held. Serving as the grand finale of autumn festivals in central and northern Iwate Prefecture, this festival unfolds a variety of events over three days. On the first day, Friday, October 2, the "Otori" (divine procession) will take place starting at noon, with portable shrines parading from Numakunai Inari Shrine to Iwate-Numakunai Station. On Saturday, October 3, from 4:00 PM to 7:30 PM, a joint parade featuring five elegant festival floats and food cart floats will start from in front of Iwate-Numakunai Station, accompanied by performances of local performing arts and dances by the Kitakamigawa Yuhazu Sansa no Kai. Traffic restrictions will also be in effect from 4:00 PM on the same day. On the final day, Sunday, October 4, the "Okaeri" (return procession) will take place from noon, with the portable shrines returning from Iwate-Numakunai Station to Numakunai Inari Shrine. During the festival period, traffic restrictions including closed road sections will be implemented, so please follow the instructions of police officers and traffic guidance units. Stalls will be set up in the Omachi Shopping Street, where you can enjoy eating while strolling. The joint parade on Saturday is a particular highlight, bringing together floats and local performing arts in one place.
