Goshono Jomon WEEK 2026

Held in Ichinohe Town, Iwate Prefecture, "Goshono Jomon WEEK 2026" is a 9-day event where visitors can experience and enjoy Jomon culture. Throughout the period, there are numerous diverse programs for adults and children alike, such as special exhibitions, hands-on events, and workshops, allowing visitors to enjoy learning about the Jomon world. Events include the special exhibition "Return of MAKUMAE", the Sahoko Aki Jomon Original Art Exhibition, "Goshono Jomon Bonsai" expressing magnificent landscapes in small pots, and the "Connecting Urushi Exhibition" themed around the life cycle of lacquer. In addition, uniquely crafted events will be held on a daily rotating basis, such as opening exhibition commentary, an experience making clay figurines in the Jomon forest, "Jomon Stargazing Gathering: Autumn", Jomon Molkky, lacquer experience, Jomon riddle-solving game, gathering to enjoy nursery rhymes and school songs, early morning yoga, roasted chestnut hospitality, Jomon outdoor tea ceremony, screening of the film "Digging Women", Goshono Jomon Kagura, a mini-concert at the night cafe, and "Escape Game at the World Heritage Site!!". The organizers are Ichinohe Town and Iwate Prefecture Kenhoku Regional Development Bureau.
