About this event

This exhibition is held as part of the "Young Artist Support Program Voyage" organized by the Shiogama Sugimura Jun Museum of Art. The program aims to illuminate the potential of promising young artists and provide them with a springboard for future endeavors. Centered on the exhibition and offering diverse opportunities for expression such as talks and workshops, it supports the ambitious creative activities of young artists connected to the Shiogama area and provides a platform to showcase their work. This fiscal year, printmaker Aku Aruga and artist Haru Matsuda were selected as exhibiting artists. Aku Aruga presents works that attempt to affirm fluctuating emotions and daily life through printmaking techniques such as woodblock prints and silkscreen. Haru Matsuda develops works that transform boundaries between real and virtual, or AI and human, onto flat planes by fixing 3D objects created in VR into prints, as well as works that project images into real space through silkscreen printing and drawings on sculptures. Visitors can look forward to expressions that trace back the history of reproductive media while contemplating the gap between imagination expanded by evolving technology and the unchanging physical body. Please take this opportunity to visit and discover fresh talent and sensibilities.
