About this event
Held inside "Gozain Ichi," a local products market where producers directly sell agricultural products (including processed goods) grown in Zao Town, the "Zao Taro Festival" is an event where you can savor taro cultivated by the rich nature of Zao Town. Grown at the foot of Mount Zao with large temperature swings, these taros boast concentrated umami flavor. This festival is held to coincide with the peak of the harvest season, offering a valuable opportunity to purchase directly from producers. Gozain Ichi is held every Saturday and Sunday, and the Taro Festival takes place during this period. It is a perfect event for the autumn season of good appetite, allowing you to fully enjoy the charm of Zao Town's agricultural produce.
