The "2026 RIFU Hamasuka Festival," held in Rifu Town, Miyagi Prefecture, is an event centered on a local festival theme to showcase Miyagi's history and charms. The highlight of this year is the sky lantern workshop and launch, where lanterns in five colors illuminate the night sky. In addition, there will be a pilgrimage cruise to Koshima Ryujin Shrine on an uninhabited island floating in Matsushima Bay, as well as the Inaniwa Wanko Udon International Tournament hosted by Rifu's renowned restaurant "Takisawaya." Energetic local children active in Rifu will liven up the stage, and the luxurious Hamasuka Grand Raffle will be held to commemorate the first-ever event at Suga Fishing Port. The venue is Suga Fishing Port, running from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM, with the sky lantern launch scheduled for 6:30 PM. The event is organized by the Hamasuka Festival Executive Committee and RIFU BOOST.
