Japanese name:第38回日本一の芋煮会フェスティバル
📅 Sun, Sep 20, 2026
About this event
An event promoting Yamagata's famous specialty, imoni (taro and meat stew), across the nation, held under the theme "Imoni is Great!". The third-generation "Nabetaro"—Japan's largest giant pot, which achieved a Guinness World Record during the 30th edition—will make an appearance, and approximately 30,000 servings of imoni are planned to be cooked and served. At the venue, visitors can view the third-generation Nabetaro up close, and enjoy unique attractions of the day including vendor booths by sponsoring organizations and companies, local gourmet souvenirs, and stage events. Imoni servings require advance reservation via the electronic ticket service "teket" or numbered tickets distributed on the day. It is Japan's premier imoni gathering in both scale and deliciousness, offering a true taste of Yamagata's autumn food culture.
