The 10th Mogami River S-mile Marathon

About this event

This is a marathon event rarely seen in Japan, where all race distances are set in miles. Under the theme of 'Run and Smile, Smile!', runners can experience an exhilarating run while enjoying the magnificent scenery of the Mogami River. Events of 10 miles (approx. 16km), 5 miles (approx. 8km), 2 miles (approx. 3.2km), and 1 mile (approx. 1.6km) are prepared, allowing a wide range of age groups from elementary school students to the general public to participate. There is also a family division, so families can enjoy running together. Rice and Kurhaus Goten bathing tickets are prepared as participation prizes. On the day of the event, Murayama City Gymnasium will serve as the start and finish point, and athlete check-in will not be held as number cards and timing chips are mailed in advance. This event is conducted with a subsidy from the toto sports promotion lottery.
