Yamagata Colorful Parade 2026

About this event

The 'Yamagata Colorful Parade' is a parade where sexual minorities and the majority walk together, aiming for a society where diverse sexualities are respected. The 5th parade will be held on Sunday, October 18, 2026. This parade is organized from scratch by LGBTQ individuals in Yamagata and supporting citizens, aiming to realize a society where everyone can live authentically under the motto 'Gather, Connect, Change.' Through the parade, it spreads the message 'I am not alone' and 'You are not alone,' aiming together for a transformation toward a more livable and open society starting from Yamagata. Cheering along the route and online participation are also welcomed, with diverse people supporting the parade as 'participants.' Donations will be allocated toward PR material printing costs, equipment rental fees, honoraria for sign language interpreters, and other expenses.
