About this event
This is a walking festival to deepen interaction and friendship with companions and promote health while immersing yourself in the rich nature of Mount Chokai where gods reside, the clear waters of Gekko River, the Shonai Sand Dunes where the Sea of Japan waves crash, and golden ears of rice. Starting this year, the event has become a one-day event, and the name has been changed to 'Yuza Chokai Walk.' Courses of 20 km, 10 km, and 5 km are available: the 20 km course passes Juroku Rakan (Sixteen Arhats) and a campsite while overlooking the Sea of Japan, the 10 km course uses the train from Yuza Station to Fukura Station to visit Juroku Rakan, and the 5 km course walks around the main venue area. The event will be held rain or shine. Advance applicants (excluding high school students and younger) will receive local specialty gifts. Advance reservations for bento lunch boxes are also available.
