Honorary Director Junichi Watanabe Lecture: "Stars and the Universe Depicted by Kenji"

Commemorating the 25th anniversary of the opening of Koriyama City Fureai Science Center, this lecture titled "Stars and the Universe Depicted by Kenji" is presented by Honorary Director Junichi Watanabe. In this lecture, the world of stars and the universe appearing in the works of Kenji Miyazawa is interpreted from an astronomer's perspective. Kenji Miyazawa, who marks the 130th anniversary of his birth this year, was fascinated by stars shining in the dark and expressed various concepts regarding stars and the cosmos throughout his body of work. In this lecture, astronomer Dr. Junichi Watanabe will explain how Kenji depicted the world of stars and the universe. The lecture is aimed at 3rd-grade elementary school students and older, and participation is free of charge, with a lottery held in the event of excess applications. The application period runs from 10:00 AM on Saturday, August 29 to 17:00 on Wednesday, September 16.
