About this event
This exhibition introduces the works of Swedish ceramicist and designer Stig Lindberg (1916-1982). Joining the Gustavsberg porcelain factory in 1937, he produced numerous world-renowned masterpieces such as the "Bersa" series. Pursuing functionality, harmony, and beauty while constantly challenging new expressions with ingenious ideas, his designs continue to be cherished by many people even more than 40 years after his death. In addition to tableware such as dishes and plates that are popular in Japan, this exhibition comprehensively showcases a wide range of works from his early to late years—including faience (tin-glazed pottery), one-of-a-kind art pieces, textiles, picture book illustrations, sketches, and works demonstrating his connections with Japan—conveying his charm as a pioneer of Scandinavian design.
