About this event
Under the slogan "Let's Dance! In the Hometown of the Hula Girls!", the "14th Hula Girls Koshien," featuring 16 competing high schools from across Japan (including 4 from Iwaki City), will be held at the Iwaki Performing Arts Center Alios. High school students will compete in two categories: set piece and free choice piece (chosen from Hula or Tahitian). The overall winning school will be awarded the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Cup, and top-ranking schools will present an exhibition performance at Spa Resort Hawaiians the following day. Conceived by Emiko Ono, the original first-generation Hula Girl, this competition has become established as a representative event of Iwaki City, fostering rich minds and healthy bodies among high school students and providing an opportunity for high school students nationwide to interact. Tickets go on sale starting July 1 at the Alios Ticket Center.
