Behind-the-Scenes Station Tour Event in Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto Station

To commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Hokkaido Shinkansen opening, JR Hokkaido will hold the 'Behind-the-Scenes Station Tour Event in Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto Station.' This special program allows participants to step behind the scenes of the station, exploring areas normally off-limits such as the Stationmaster's Office, the station staff office, and the underground platform passage. Accompanied by station staff explanations, participants can observe train handling operations directly involved in train movements up close, and Hokkaido Shinkansen transport equipment that safeguards railway safety will also be specially unveiled. Furthermore, participants can experience making platform announcements on an actual Shinkansen platform—a duty usually restricted to station staff. Participants will receive commemorative exclusive pin badges and original JR Hokkaido merchandise. The morning course runs from 9:55 to 12:00, and the afternoon course runs from 13:45 to 15:50, with each course limited to 15 participants. The participation fee is 10,000 yen (tax included), and the event is open to junior high school students and older.
