42nd Ryozen Taiko Drum Festival

About this event

Ryozen Taiko has a history of about 350 years, with over 60 sets of drums preserved in the Ryozen area. At this festival, more than 80 drums from 15 groups gather to showcase their powerful synchronized drumming. In addition to Ryozen Taiko performances, the event features marching band shows by children, stage performances, and introductions of sister/friendly exchange cities. This festival serves as an opportunity to preserve and pass down the traditional drums inherited in Date City and the local area, while promoting their appeal both inside and outside the city.
