Held in Kagamiishi Town, Fukushima Prefecture, "Kagamiishi Rice Paddy Art: 'Bountiful Harvest Celebration! Rice Harvesting Festival'" is an event where participants can experience harvesting the rice of the rice paddy art. Participants will be provided with tonjiru (pork miso soup) and special rice balls made from rice paddy art rice. The event will take place on Saturday, October 17, 2026, from 9:00 to around 12:00, and will be canceled in case of rain. The venue is the paddy field north of Kagamiishi Town Library (Rice Paddy Art Field). Participation is free, with a recruitment capacity of about 200 people. To participate, items such as a sickle, long-sleeved clothes, boots, rubber gloves or work gloves, spare clothes, a towel, and rain gear are required. Applications can be made via Google Forms or telephone; the deadline is Friday, October 9, but applications will close once capacity is reached. Photos taken during the event may be used in flyers, on social media, etc.
