Japanese name:中津川渓谷の紅葉

About this event

Nakatsugawa Gorge, located along the Bandai-Azuma Lake Line on the way from Goshikinuma to the Skyline, is the premier autumn foliage spot in Urabandai. The gorge is colored with magnificent hues woven by broad-leaved forests, attracting many photographers from both inside and outside the prefecture. Walking trails leading to the gorge are well maintained, allowing visitors to easily enjoy a stroll. The peak viewing season is usually from mid-October to late October, where you can enjoy autumn colors of momiji (Japanese maple), tochi (horse chestnut), kaede (maple), karamatsu (larch), and more. The contrast between the Bandai-Azuma Lake Line—which runs with views of Lake Hibara, Lake Onogawa, and Lake Akimoto created by the eruption of Mount Bandai—and the autumn leaves creates a breathtaking panorama.
