Autumn Foliage at Goshikinuma Ponds
Japanese name:五色沼湖沼群の紅葉
📅 Sun, Oct 11, 2026 - Tue, Nov 10, 2026
About this event
The Goshikinuma Ponds are a group of multiple lakes and ponds formed by the eruption of Mount Bandai. The water surfaces with diverse hues such as emerald green and cobalt blue are called the 'Mysterious Ponds' and captivate visitors. During the autumn foliage season, visitors can enjoy the brocade autumn landscape woven by colored trees and beautiful water surfaces, experiencing exceptional scenery unique to this time of year. In particular, the contrast between the autumn leaves and 'Ao-numa' (Blue Pond), which holds a more mysterious atmosphere than the other ponds, is a must-see. Each pond, including Bishamon-numa, Aka-numa, Midoro-numa, Benten-numa, Ruri-numa, Ao-numa, and Yanagi-numa, shows a different expression. At Yanagi-numa in autumn, you can enjoy the harmony between the beautiful water surface and the autumn leaves.
