About this event
The 47th Shinshinotsu Blue Sky Festival, the largest summer event in Shinshinotsu Village, Hokkaido, will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2026, in front of the Community Center and in the pedestrian precinct. Visitors can enjoy delicious food, drinks, and stage events, with the Agri Festa—offering Genghis Khan (grilled mutton) and beer—drawing particular attention. A wide variety of events will be held, including a performance of Shinshinotsu Denen Taiko drumming, a chorus by local children, a rice cake scatter (mochimaki), hot-air balloon ride experiences, and drone soccer trials. In addition, the float parade marching through Shinshinotsu Village will showcase unique floats crafted by local residents. The festival will conclude with a colorful fireworks show beautifully illuminating the summer night sky of Shinshinotsu. Admission is free, and no reservation is required.
