2026 Fukushima Airport 'Sky Day' Festival

At Fukushima Airport, the '2026 Fukushima Airport Sky Day Festival' will be held in conjunction with 'Sky Day (September 20),' which aims to raise understanding and interest in aviation. On the day, visitors can enjoy a variety of stage events, starting with the opening ceremony, an Ultra Hero show, a drug detector dog demonstration, a song and talk show by Akio Kikuchi (a former member of Ahodori), a FLYERS dance performance, a Fukushima Momo Musume performance show, and a Magical Balloon Yes show. Inside the airport terminal building, balloon and street performance acts, an ANA kids costume experience, an IBEX original goods capsule lottery, a Botan-hunting stamp rally, a renewable energy quiz rally, a customs PR corner, guide dog training fundraising and goods sales, and an airport sticker rally and ring toss will be conducted. Furthermore, on the airport apron and perimeter road, an opening ceremony flight, an ANA trolley dolly tour (tentative), rescue training and aircraft display by a disaster prevention helicopter, water discharge by chemical fire engines, ground displays and photography of aircraft, displays of fire trucks and snowplows, and sightseeing flights will take place. At the Airport Park (Air Front Area), the 2026 Fukushima Airport Park YOSAKOI Festival will be held, and around the festival stage, public relations for the Japan Self-Defense Forces booth, Fukushima Firebonds PR, Fukushima Red Hopes PR, tasting and sales of Dongding Oolong tea by the Tamakawa Village Tourism and Local Products Association, Road Corporation PR, Fukushima Airport PR corner, JR East PR booth, Taiwan Night Market in Fukushima Airport, and distribution of runway 'Anchakuseki' stones are also scheduled. Guided tours of the control tower and aviation weather observation station (advance registration required), which are usually off-limits, will also be held. Admission is free.
