About this event

This tour is an on-site inspection tour for prospective settlers focusing on craftsmanship in Namie Town, including "Obori Soma Ware," a traditional craft handed down for over approximately 300 years. Despite suffering heavy damage in the Great East Japan Earthquake, the community-rooted craftsmanship culture has been preserved through the passion of many people. In this tour, in addition to touring the town including Ukedo Elementary School, participants can experience everyday life in Namie Town that cannot be encountered through ordinary tourism, through visits to the Obori district, potteries, and exchanges with town residents. It is a valuable opportunity to experience the steps of reconstruction and the sites of craftsmanship that connect to the future. Recommended for those interested in town development, migration, dual-location living, or Namie Town.
