Held at Kamanekodo in Yuki City, Ibaraki Prefecture, Saturday Garage Market "Yokai Costume Mononoke Festival" is an autumn event themed around yokai (spirit/monster) costumes. Following last year's great reception, yokai gather for a packed schedule featuring a market, mononoke costumes, a target shooting gallery, yokai makeup, a toad cat yokai haunted house, live performances, and exquisite foods. On the live stage, performers include "Shocchi & Ovi" (the singing and guitar clown Shocchi with Ovi, a one-eyed monster beating the drum) and "Banmaden Residents," a gadget-electro-techno duo consisting of Eyeball Gentleman and Newspaper Man. Food offerings include pizza and alcohol from Kamanekodo, hamburgers from nomads burger, shrimp salt yakisoba from THANKYOU CAFE, gyoza from Kitsune to Tanuki, crepes from Ao to Crepe, and more. In the market and hands-on corners, visitors can enjoy target shooting by Shatekiva Pon-chan, vintage tools and sundries by Gogo Sanji, illustrations and yokai makeup by Batuekico, yokai illustrations by ma2, accessories by Kappa no Tane, shaggy dolls by Kedama Rock, stuffed plushies by kanazzzawa, brain therapy by 32-mitu, and more. The dress code is yokai costume, and participating with just a single accessory is also welcome. Fitting rooms for mononoke costumes and lockers with keys will also be provided.
