About this event
As Utsunomiya City's "Mottainai Movement," which fosters "the spirit of cherishing people, things, and the town," finally approaches its 20th anniversary in the next fiscal year, this event will be held grandly as a kick-off event for the 20th anniversary project. The venue is packed with interactive hands-on booths where citizen groups and companies have put their ingenuity into joyfully embodying "Mottainai." An eco-friendly event full of smiles will be held, including a "Mottainai Gymnastics" performance by kindergarteners, a mini Lightline test ride experience, a "Kogigori" experience of turning a shaved ice machine with a bicycle, and recycled handicraft workshops. A raffle will also be held, featuring prizes such as 10,000 yen gift certificates for 1st place and other local specialties. This event is eligible for "Miya Eco Action Points" and aims for zero CO2 emissions and zero waste. Visitors are encouraged to bring their own bottles and reusable bags, cooperate with sorting and collecting reusable tableware, take home their trash, and use bicycles or public transportation. Donations of finished books, DVDs, and foods that have not expired are also accepted.
