Held in Nishikata-machi, Tochigi City, the "Nishikata Children's Summer Festival 2026" is an event designed to provide opportunities for local residents and children to interact happily, wishing for the children who will lead the city's future to grow up rich in spirit, robust, and filled with dreams and hopes. Aimed at giving memorable summer memories, it will be a special day for the children of the Nishikata area. On the day, there will be mikoshi portable shrines and dancing by Nishikata Nakayoshi Nursery School, along with numerous event booths organized by the Children's Club Association and Elementary/Junior High School PTAs, including food stalls, target shooting, free throws, and the Tochisuke Fluffy Inflatable House. Many food stands are planned outdoors, creating a lively atmosphere. In addition, exciting activities for children are prepared, including Self-Defense Forces vehicle exhibitions and merchandise sales, police car and motorcycle displays by the Tochigi Prefectural Police, and VR disaster prevention vehicle experiences and ladder truck rides by the Tochigi City Fire Department. Bon Odori dancing, a special screening of a freshly edited movie, and candy tossing are also planned, offering various ways to enjoy the day throughout. *Contents are tentative and subject to change due to circumstances.
