This summer festival is held along the Kura no Machi Odori boulevard in central Tochigi City. Packed with events for the whole family to enjoy, it features the "Kura Dance" set to the "Kura no Machi Ondo" folk song, Yosakoi dancing, portable shrines (mikoshi), and more. It is a community-rooted festival where you can fully savor the passionate summer of Tochigi. The 2026 event details are published on the Tochigi City Tourism Association official website as a vendor recruitment announcement, stating that the event date and time is scheduled for Saturday, September 12, 2026, from 12:00 to 21:00 (tentative). It will proceed in light rain and be postponed to the following day, Sunday the 13th, in the event of severe weather. The venue is scheduled to be the Kura no Machi First Parking Lot (13-1 Yamato-cho, Tochigi City). Around 20 vendor stalls combining tents and mobile food trucks are being recruited, with priority given to vendors from within the city. The application deadline is Friday, July 17, 2026, at 16:00. The vendor fee is 20,000 yen per section for tent stalls, and 20,000 to 40,000 yen for mobile food trucks depending on vehicle size. A vendor briefing session is scheduled to be held on Friday, August 7, from 14:00 in Room 501 on the 5th floor of Tochigi City Hall.
