About this event
Set in the Higashinasuno area of Nasushiobara City, Tochigi Prefecture, "The 7th ONSEN Gastronomy Walking in Nasushiobara 2026 / Higashinasuno" will be held, allowing participants to experience the local history, industry, and rich food culture with all five senses. Proposing a tourism style that combines ingredients and food culture nurtured by the local climate with hot springs (onsen), this event allows participants to touch upon local history and industry and savor local blessings while walking a course of approximately 6.5 km starting from JR Nasushiobara Station. Six gastro points are set up along the course, where you can taste locally produced vegetables, milk, pork, and wines featuring brands from 3 winemakers. In particular, cocktails made with milk—a representative local resource of Nasushiobara—menus using locally grown vegetables, and minced meat cutlets using Nasu Gunji Pork will be provided. Furthermore, the local specialty dish "Makigari Nabe" associated with Minamoto no Yoritomo will also appear, offering a touch of food culture deeply tied to the history of Nasushiobara. At the end of the walk, participants can enjoy a hot spring bath at one participating facility of their choice using an onsen bathing ticket distributed to participants. Accommodation discount benefits before and after the event date are also available exclusively for event participants, making it an experiential autumn event where you can leisurely and fully enjoy the food, hot springs, and sightseeing of Nasushiobara.
