Kuni Akaiwa Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings Fureai Appreciation Festival

A Fureai Appreciation Festival will be held in the Important Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings in Akaiwa, Nakanojo Town, Gunma Prefecture. Akaiwa is a settlement where many sericulture farmhouses from the late Edo and Meiji periods remain, and the scenery of that era makes traveling even more enjoyable. At the Kuni Health Center, the main venue, food and drinks such as yakiniku, grilled corn, and soba will be served, and locally grown vegetables will be sold. In addition, visitors can enjoy settlement guided tours by local guides (starting at 11:00 and 12:30), storytelling of old tales, document exhibitions, sericulture experiences, and silk-related experiences such as kumihimo braiding and hand-reeling.
