About this event

This is a special project extending the museum's opening hours until 19:00 so visitors can tour the museum while enjoying an evening cool-off during the continuing intense summer heat. Held for a limited time of 2 days, an exhibition gallery talk by the curator in charge of the Showa 100 Special Exhibition "Hanno and Showa: The Birth of the City and Evolving Lifestyles" will be held from 18:00. Commemorating the 100th full year since the first year of Showa, this special exhibition takes "Hanno's Showa Era" as its theme, presenting the journey of the city connecting to the present through successive mergers, along with people's lifestyles that changed alongside furniture and home appliances. Through the exhibition, tracing the city's history woven into the present Showa, Heisei, and Reiwa eras as well as the process of change in people's daily lives, it will provide an opportunity to reflect on the future.
