JGSDF Public Information Center "Rikkun Land" Summer Vacation Special Event 2026

About this event

At the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force Public Information Center "Rikkun Land," summer vacation special events will be held on weekends and during the Obon period from August 1 to August 30, 2026. In this event, test rides on the Type 73 Large Truck will be conducted on Saturdays and Sundays from August 1 to August 23. Furthermore, on weekdays from August 10 to August 14, visitors can enjoy daily changing events such as VR experiences, face camouflage paint experiences, and sandbag making. Additionally, on August 29 and 30, equipment such as field communication systems and heavy wreckers will be on display, and a photo corner where visitors can take commemorative photos wearing the same camouflage uniform as Self-Defense Force personnel will also be set up. These events require no advance application and have free admission. In particular, during the Type 73 Large Truck test ride, visitors can actually ride in a large truck capable of towing water trailers and field cooking sets, and programs such as sandbag making that is also useful in disasters and a simulated experience of JGSDF training with VR goggles are prepared. It is a valuable opportunity to feel close to the activities of the Ground Self-Defense Force, ideal for creating summer vacation memories.
