About this event
Held at the Tohoku Community Center in Niiza City, Saitama Prefecture, the "Tohoku Community Center Children's Summer Festival & Storytelling Session" provides a fun summer day for children. Held from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, the first half features a storytelling session that sparks children's imagination with panel theater, large picture books, picture books, drawing songs, and picture-story shows (kamishibai). The second half is packed with exciting festival-style games and activity corners such as target-toss games, a haunted tunnel crawl, bowling, hopping-frog crafts, and origami lotteries. By participating in each corner, children receive a stamp, and collecting stamps allows them to try the final game of yo-yo balloon fishing—a thoughtful setup designed to foster children's sense of achievement. The event is open to preschool children (must be accompanied by a guardian) and elementary school students residing in the city, with a capacity of 50 people on a first-come, first-served basis. Admission is free.
