Born in Chichibu City, Saitama Prefecture, Hayashiya Taihei inherited the Hayashiya school's traditional, hospitality-rich performance style and has earned high acclaim for his distinct approach known as the "Taihei World." Having won numerous awards including the NHK Newcomer Award, he continues to be actively involved after his promotion to Shin'uchi (master rank). Centered around his own solo shows held six times a year, he is widely active across Japan through rakugo events and TV and radio appearances.
