The Choshi Mikoshi Rengokai, which has preserved the local festival culture in Choshi City, Chiba Prefecture for over 50 years, will hold the 'Choshi Mikoshi Rengokai Autumn Festival' on Sunday, October 18, 2026, at Aeon Mall Choshi. The purpose of this festival is to restore the festival culture of Choshi that was lost during the COVID-19 pandemic and to bring the authentic excitement of a festival to children. On the day of the event, there will be a children's mikoshi where next-generation bearers energetically carry the portable shrine, an adult mikoshi showcasing the rough and spirited vigor unique to a fishing town, a powerful musical instrument (narimono) performance, fast-beat taiko drum ensemble dances, and a variety of stage performances such as Yosakoi, kids dance, hula dance, and Bon Odori. Furthermore, numerous food trucks will be present so visitors can fully enjoy Choshi's culinary charms, and inflatable play equipment will be set up for children to enjoy all day long. Through this event, the organizers aim to pass the flame of Choshi's festivals on to the future without letting it die out. The spirited chants, the resonant festival music, and the moment when the entire town is enveloped in enthusiasm represent the pride of Choshi and the true spirit of the fishermen.
