About this event
The 75th Mobara City Cultural Festival will be held from Friday, October 30 to Sunday, November 29, 2026, across six venues including the Mobara City Museum and Local History Museum. This cultural festival will showcase a wide variety of art exhibitions such as paintings, calligraphy, sculpture, dyeing and weaving, ceramics, pressed flower art, and tole painting. In addition, exhibitions featuring Japanese swords, modern and contemporary ceramic masterworks, photography, calligraphy and art by elementary and junior high school students, and artwork by kindergarten and nursery school children will be held, offering opportunities to experience art across generations. Honno Community Center will host independent group art exhibitions, local history/cultural property exhibitions, and performing arts presentations, while Tsurue Community Center will also hold independent group art exhibitions. The General Civic Center will host postage stamp exhibitions, bonsai exhibitions, flower arrangement (ikebana) exhibitions, tea ceremonies, tanka poetry tournaments, Mobara Boys and Girls Invention Club exhibitions, haiku tournaments, and shogi tournaments. Tobudai Cultural Center will host ginei (chanted poetry) tournaments, Music Plaza, sankyoku concerts, a dance festival, and Japanese traditional dance/performing arts festivals, serving as a venue for musical and dance presentations. Furthermore, a go tournament by the Go Club and the MOBARA Music Session 2026 at Mobara Park will be held, bringing together community-rooted cultural activities. With unique and elaborately planned events at each venue, this event enhances citizens' interest in arts and culture while promoting local community exchange.
