52nd Yachiyo Furusato Parent-Child Festival

The "52nd Yachiyo Furusato Parent-Child Festival," held in Yachiyo City, Chiba Prefecture, will take place around the Prefectural Yachiyo Regional Park on Saturday, August 22, 2026. On the day, 5,000 fireworks will be launched to illuminate the night sky. Food truck stalls are also scheduled, allowing visitors to enjoy a summer evening. Due to overlapping construction projects around the venue, the event will be held on a reduced scale compared to typical years, and floating lanterns (toro nagashi) and stage events will not be held. Doors open at 16:00, but to prevent heatstroke, entry and reserving spots prior to 16:00 are not permitted. As no parking is provided, visiting by public transportation is recommended. Access is about a 15-minute walk from Yachiyo-Chuo Station or Murakami Station on the Toyo Rapid Railway. The event will be canceled in case of severe weather, with no postponement. Paid tickets are required for elementary school students and older, and can be purchased at Seven-Eleven in-store terminals and through Seven Ticket services.
