Moemi, Keiji, and Erika are set to participate in their class reading aloud contest. However, Moemi cannot read well, leaving Erika full of frustration. Meanwhile, Keiji is also upset that he cannot go fishing with his father. Amidst this, Hidemoto Eshiro, a man who aspires to be a master thief, also appears. Erika, Keiji, and Eshiro encounter the sweets from the mysterious candy store "Zenitendo." The sweets sold by shopkeeper Beniko bring special effects to customers. Will the wishes of the three come true?!\n\nThe original work is a hugely popular children's book series that ranked in the top 10 for two consecutive editions (2018 and 2020) of the "Children's Choice! Children's Book Poll" and has been adapted into both a film and an anime. The long-established puppet troupe Hitomi-za, founded in 1948 and known for bringing "Hyokkori Hyotanjima" to the world with the dawn of the video and television era, will perform this popular children's book as a puppet show. With the catchphrase, "The candy store 'Zenitendo,' reachable only by lucky customers. May you be fortunate enough to reach it too," the mysterious world of the candy store unfolds.
