Summer Festival (Gosho Shrine)

The Gosho Shrine Summer Festival is a traditional festival where two portable shrines (mikoshi) parade through the village while praying for bountiful harvests. Its rustic charm and heroic spirit convey the strength of the people's faith to this day. The main hall of Gosho Shrine is also known as a representative cultural property of Sammu City. Crowded with summer vacationers and beachgoers, street stalls line the area, further enlivening the festival atmosphere.
