About this event

In Onjuku Town, traditional autumn festivals are held across three separate districts: Onjuku, Iwawada, and Fuse. The Onjuku district's autumn festival is a celebration of Kasuga Shrine, beginning with Takayamada Kagura Bayashi music and featuring the procession of adult and children's mikoshi portable shrines. The Ochodairi ritual and the unique miyairi (shrine entry) on the final day are major highlights. The Iwawada district festival takes place at Omiya Shrine and is known for its energetic style typical of a fishing town, involving running and tossing the shrine aloft. The Fuse district festival is a traditional event of the former Fuse Village, spanning parts of both Onjuku Town and Isumi City. Visitors can enjoy distinct autumn festivals with unique histories and traditions in each district.
