DESIGNART TOKYO 2026

About this event

Japan's largest design and art festival, 'DESIGNART TOKYO', marks its commemorative 10th edition. This year's theme is 'Hibiki' (Resonance). Themed around the phenomenon of various actions and entities—such as sounds, colors, and materials—transmitting across time and distance, a wide array of presentations spanning design, art, interior, fashion, technology, and more will be held throughout Tokyo. Set in Tokyo, one of the world's premier mixed-culture cities, this event creates new value as diverse races, industries, generations, cultures, and societies intersect in layers and resonate with one another. In Tokyo where history and innovation intersect, visitors can experience how small expressions produce unexpected resonance. Special projects commemorating the 10th edition are also planned, offering an opportunity to reexamine the essential potential of design and art. As the main venue, a 2,000-square-meter temporary architectural structure named 'AUTOBAHN' by the rising architectural design studio 'ALTEMY' will appear on the 'KK Line' (Tokyo Expressway) in the Ginza-Yurakucho area. Under the concept 'NO LIMIT', creatives from around the world will gather beyond conventional frameworks, creating a space where the possibilities of design and art expand without limits, much like Germany's speed-limit-free Autobahn. The KK Line, which supported the high economic growth era as urban infrastructure, will serve as the starting point for creativity, offering a space filled with overwhelming energy and a sense of expanse from the past into the future.
