Koishikawa Korakuen Special Night Opening: Enjoying the Mountain Foliage and Lights

Japanese name:夜間特別開園 小石川後楽園 深山光葉を楽しむ

📅 Fri, Nov 13, 2026 - Tue, Nov 24, 2026

📍 Bunkyo, Tokyo

About this event

Co-hosted with Tokyo Dome City, the historic daimyo garden "Koishikawa Korakuen" will be illuminated with fantastical light displays during a special nighttime opening. Now in its 4th year, this event lights up the downtown oasis at night, allowing visitors to enjoy unique views different from daytime. The Karamon gate projection mapping video, which was well received last year, can be experienced up close this year at the "Tsujibei" wall, offering a historical picture scroll projecting the lives and scenery of Edo people during the Mito Domain era. The autumn foliage-themed lighting of Engetsukyo Bridge, Horai Island reflecting on the water surface, and the illuminated stately Karamon gate also invite visitors into a mystical world. In addition, numerous sensory autumn projects are prepared, including the sale of original lanterns to illuminate walks, a collaborative stamp rally with Bunkyo Ward-linked "Koume-chan," matcha sets at the night-exclusive "Bidoro Chaya," food trucks, and joint ticket sets with Tokyo Dome City Attractions rides. Please enjoy these 12 special days where the historic garden shines with modern technology.
