Japanese name:コンクリートの日 体験まつり!

About this event
A hands-on event for children, "Concrete Day Hands-on Festival!", will be held at the parking lot of Koshino Kensetsu in Kita-ku, Tokyo. This event is designed to let children discover the appeal of concrete, a material familiar in everyday places like homes and schools, through enjoyable hands-on experiences. Highlights include a corner where participants can feel raw concrete before it sets and create cement handprints as a souvenir of their visit. In addition, guests can climb inside a real concrete mixer truck for a commemorative photo and touch a construction vibrator to experience how vibrating settles sand. A tour to view the actual seismic isolation devices installed in the basement of a seismic-isolated condominium designed and built by Koshino Kensetsu is also scheduled. With full-scale models and inspection equipment clearly explaining reinforced concrete structures, visitors can explore the workings of familiar buildings. Marking its 13th edition, this event has been independently planned and organized by Koshino Kensetsu since 2011, contributing to community exchange and sparking children's interest in the construction industry, earning recognition like the National General Contractors Association's "Reiwa 8 Construction Industry Social Contribution Month Meritorious Award". Alongside the experiential corners, food stalls offering popcorn, cotton candy, juice, and more will line the venue, creating an enjoyable day for parents and children.
