The 'Momijiyama Ghost Festival' will be held at Momijiyama Park in Kyonancho, Musashino City from Saturday, August 22 to Sunday, August 23, 2026. This event is a long-running annual summer tradition in the Musashisakai and Kyonan area as a community-made summer haunted house project. Utilizing large tents and other setups, a complex course featuring elements such as hospital rooms, severed heads, and wells is constructed, with local residents applying their ingenuity to entertain visitors. In past editions, touches such as changing parts of the course between the first and second days have also been seen. On the day of the event, festival stalls selling yakisoba, frankfurters, and other treats are scheduled, allowing visitors to enjoy not only the frights of the haunted house but also the lively buzz of food stalls and interaction with local residents. On both days, numbered ticket distribution will begin at 17:00. Past events have reported tickets running out early, so arriving early is recommended if you wish to participate. As some children may find the dark atmosphere inside the tent or loud screams overwhelming, it is important to enjoy the event within a comfortable range. It is a warm, handmade event where people can share summer memories in the community.
