Ichikishima Shrine Autumn Grand Festival

This is the Autumn Grand Festival of Ichikishima Shrine, an ancient shrine said to have been founded in Kyoho 17 (1732). Walking along the approach toward this ancient shrine nestled deep in a residential area, one can feel the good old traditions cherished locally for many years. In front of the worship hall, five-colored streamers, a mirror, and a sacred sword crafted by Nobushige Kanai are displayed, creating a magnificent sight. Drums that anyone can freely beat are set up, and the deep, resonating sound of the drums evokes nostalgia for the good old days. As dusk falls, the festival begins in earnest; banners are raised along the approach, the shrine grounds and halls are brightly decorated, and the venue bustles with many people. Strolling through the food and game stalls illuminated by lanterns is also part of the fun. This festival is beloved by local residents as the lively Autumn Grand Festival of Ichikishima Shrine.
