About this event

In conjunction with Suicide Prevention Awareness Month in September, Akishima City will host the 'Akishima Whale Illumination' at the Akishima-ensis International Exchange and Cultural Building. As part of a campaign aiming to protect every precious life and create an easy-to-live-in society, a full-scale replica of the Akishima whale fossil will be illuminated in the colors of the 'Inochi Sasaeru' (Supporting Life) logo (blue, orange, green, and pink). This symbol embodies the wish to 'support life' through the four-step process of 'noticing, listening, connecting, and watching over' those facing difficulties. Why not take the opportunity to reflect on mind and health while viewing the mystical whale at night? Anyone is welcome to view.
