About this event

This is an event related to the summer special exhibition 'Famous Sights in the Suburbs of Edo: Tama River' held at the Former Tama Sanctuary Memorial Hall. A curator will provide exhibition commentary and lecture on how to appreciate picture scrolls while handling 'Chofu Tamagawa Sogazu' (replica edition). Together with the special exhibition featuring replica panel displays of the Tama River painted during early modern times, such as ukiyo-e and 'Edo Meisho Zue' (Illustrated Guide to Famous Places in Edo), as well as introductions to waka poems composed by Emperor Meiji about the Tama River, it is a valuable opportunity to connect deeply with the history and culture of the Tama River. Prior application is not required, and you can participate by going directly to the memorial hall office on the day.
